The birth of a miracle

This photograph was taken right before Marvin and I married on April 30, 2011. It was on the very spot we are standing that I stood over three decades ago. A young girl gazing into her father's eyes. It was at this place that my father gave to me a yellow rose and told me the most amazing thing. At the time, I thought they were the ramblings of an alcoholic. My father told me one day the man God had for me to marry would bring me a single yellow rose, too. This would be the very last time I saw my father. I shared this story with lots of people for a while. My first boyfriend and the second and third and fourth. I shared it with anyone who would listen. Not a single person brought me a yellow rose. Eventually, I stopped sharing the story and almost forgot it. I had no idea that the words my father spoke would one day come true!!

It took 42 years and lots of bad choices before one day a man miraculously would bring me the promised yelllow flower. The day Marvin Davis delivered said flower confirmed that he was the man God had handpicked for me. I thank God for the miraculous way He brought Marvin and I together. I thank God for new beginnings.
