You totally blew it! Again.
You reacted when your boss offered you constructive criticism.
You chose the wrong words in response to your wife asking, "Do I look fat in this?"
You ran a red light because you were in a hurry to get to church.
You turned to food in a gluttonous binge rather than turning to the Father.
Perhaps you went to Grahams or the local liquor store and are nursing an awful hangover now. You feel guilty.
Maybe you are being convicted about sex outside of marriage, or adultery, or murder. Did you lust after someone in your heart or wish for their death in secret? Its all the same. Guilty.
Did you yell at your kids?
Did you have a man killed so you could have his wife for yourself?
Take off another man's ear?
Sell yourself on the street corner for money?
You feel like your friends are no where to be found. You just can't seem to get it right- again. You doubt your salvation at times.
Those thunderbolts of guilt, remorse, regret, and hopelessness threaten to steal not just your yesterday; but now they are taking away today.
What is worse than blowing it yesterday? Living in defeat today!
The Lord's love never ends; his mercies never stop. They are new every morning." (Lamentations 3:22-23) Do you believe the bible?
Jesus can take all the icky and give you a new day. A new chance. His mercies.. his grace.. they are pouring over you now like a waterfall of cleansing. Forget yesterday. Live for today. Live for God. Don't allow yourself to be nailed to the cross of regret and shame. Jesus already paid that price. To think yourself worthy to be nailed on that cross with him is pride.
Release yourself from the debt you can never pay. We need grace. Jesus gives you that grace. Receive it today.
