Passionate Rain

The stars sparkled brightly against the midnight sky. The moon poured its splendor over the little house on Winding Shore Lane. Inside the house was deliciously quiet. In the master bedroom a couple stood embraced in each other's arms. The darkness of his skin contrasted beautifully against her light complexion. "You are my ministry..." sang in the background. He whispered the same words into her ear. His full lips pressing against hers.

Candles surrounded the large four poster bed highlighting the oneness that was to occur. He reached for her leading her to the bed. The sheets had already been pulled down inviting the lovers to come. She removed her rings from her perfectly manicured hands so as not to scratch his face with them. Her hair barrette was gently placed next to the precious gems and then the glasses she had removed from her face.

He took her in his arms and held her tightly. The sound of rain in the background interrupted the lovers for a moment. They smiled for a second welcoming the romantic rain. But, as abruptly as the sound of water had started came the sound of crackling.

I would love to say that the above story came from the latest Harlequin romance, but this really happened. Well, at least the crackling sound happened. I am sad to report, it wasn't thunder or severe rain. The sound of rain as well wasn't water. It was the sound of my eye glasses engulfing into flames on the shelf behind me. I had put my glasses down next to a candle and they had caught on fire! Sigh.

Stay tuned next week for more adventures from the Davis family.....
